yesterday we were getting our van repaired and while that was going on we decided to window shop at a really cool furniture consignment shop.
i saw a baker's rack that was really nice and that i would love to have.
hubby looked at it too and thought it was a nice piece but we had to leave the shop to pick our van.

so i'll start at the beginning.
then she gave birth to me, and realised that life was a miracle.
she began searching for god.
BoleynGirl,
Where do intelligent women go when they are fed up with being treated like imbeciles?
JWN of course. Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to more of your insights.

i was just thinking how thankful i am that i took a typing course in school years ago.
i would think it has to be very difficult posting on a board like this hunting and pecking all the time.
so how fast can you type?
I can type, not near as fast as some of you. But I am very good at spelling and grammar.

on facebook tonight there was a post asking to take a personality test, in posting the personality tests a trend started emerging that certain personality types seem to leave around the same time.. i came out as an intj which is introverted intuitive thinking judging.
which a good paragraph describing it was:.
intjs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion "does it work?
Thanks for posting. I took the test and here are my results:
I am definitely INTJ
introverted...............89%
intuitive....................75%
thinking....................25%
judging.....................67%
Career suggestions for my type are natural science and natural science education. Interesting...before I became a Witness I wanted to be a science teacher. I completed two years of a biology degree before being baptised at age 20. Was active until I began fading at age 54. I read an article by Kerry Louderback-Wood on Witnesses and blood tranfusions in the local paper which led me to www.ajwrb.org, then read evidence that the frequency of earthquakes has remained the same over the centuries and found there is no scientific evidence of a global flood ever having ocurred. I could no longer pretend to believe something that was blatantly false.

hello all at jwn,.
so my mom called to tell me that my dad wont be able to come back home, he has been on kidney dialysis (along with having congestive heart failure and diabetes and dimentia...) but now he is breaking down and will have to be admitted to a hospice center for the remainder of his time left (without dialysis wont be two weeks).
most of you know my situation, faded (not dfd or dad) but most of my family treats me like i am disfellowshipped except my mom and she keeps getting warnings from elders to cut off dealings with me- my dad is inactive but as head of the household he demands that i be able to visit and take care of mom and dad (so my mom must be submissive to his wishes).
Coffee House Girl,
I am so sorry to hear of the situation you are facing with your father, made even more difficult by the stupid rules and interference of the cult. If you are only faded, no one has the right even from their cult standards to insist your mother shun you. Keep in mind that your mother is under the mind control of a destructive cult. Pity your mother. Unfortunatly you are witnessing the tearing apart of your family first hand. It is made worse for you by having to keep Coffee Shop Guy hidden, thus being denied much needed support in this difficult time for you.
Just before TotallyADD's father passed away two years ago, the family had one last reunion to say their good-byes. Included in the family gathering was a grandson who had been df'd for 20 years. We were all happy to see him and his new wife. We were able to keep this visit off the radar of the local congregation in which TotallyADD and his father were elders at the time.
Before TotallyADD's dad died his mom attended very few meetings and seldom went in field service. But since her husband's death she has become super theocratic. She also has some severe mental and emotional issues which has put a wall between her and us. We have gotten to the place where we cannot deal with her any more. Some in the local congregation are enabling her making it impossible to get her real help. So my plea to you is, please be aware of what may happen once your dad passes.
You say you are an hour away from your mom and dad. We moved a thousand miles away to be able to fade. Much good advice has been given here on how to get through the next few weeks and the impending funeral. Afterwards, make a good life for yourself and Coffee Shop Guy and don't look back.
My deepest sympathies,

make decisions.
all the decisions that we make?
why make decisions at all?.
When I was pregnant with our youngest child (early 80's) my husband and I decided we didn't want any more children so we asked my doctor to perform a tubal ligation which he did during my caesarian. We had done our research in the publications and came to the conclusion that it in the final analysis it was a PERSONAL DECISION even though sterilization was generally discouraged. Many of the sisters in the congregation had also had their tubes tied so we didn't think too much about it when we make known that I too had the operation. Well one day two elders dressed in suits and carrying Bibles showed up at our door and wanted us to explain. It seems our biggest mistake was not having my tubes tied but talking about it!!
